Parent Feedback

We like to hear your views! Listening to and consulting with the views of the school community is an important part of improving what we do and developing our policy and practice as a school.

We hold termly Parent Forum meetings and all parents are invited to contribute their thoughts and opinions to these meetings via their Class Rep.  The aim of this group is to talk through initiatives and ideas, discuss specific areas of school provision and gain constructive feedback from representatives across the school. Each meeting has a different focus.

We send out an annual parent questionnaire to gather the views of parents on what we do well and what we can improve. We take this feedback any ideas submitted to feed into our school development plan. Below are some comments from the 2016-17 questionnaire:

"I am really pleased with my son's progress since starting in reception in September. I am amazed by his progress in reading and am so pleased at how keen he is to learn".  Reception parent, May 2017
"The caring, supportive, fun attitude staff have whilst expecting certain behaviour from children is a winning combination. Massive effort clearly goes in to each day making sure children learn facts in a variety of methods".  Year 1 parent, May 2017
What do parents think Lightwater Village School does well?
The school environment is welcoming and it is clear that you put the children's safety first. You work hard to create a good learning environment. You also follow through - when you say you are going to do something you do it.

Welcoming and friendly approach by all staff makes one feel part of a family.
Pretty much everything. I genuinely can't find a fault with the school.
Offer a safe and secure environment for our children where they feel valued and are encouraged to do well.

We encourage parents to submit their views on the school to Ofsted via
