School Lunches

We are very fortunate to have a kitchen on site which provides hot school meals daily.

From September 2014 all infant children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are offered a healthy school lunch free of charge.  This scheme is referred to as the 'Universal Infant Free School Meals'. We strongly encourage all children to take advantage of this as research clearly shows that children who have eaten a nutritious and well balanced lunch perform better in school!

Menu - click this link for the school's menu. This link also gives allergens information. Please note that Wednesday and Thursday lunches are normally swapped so that the roast dinner is offered on a Thursday.

Despite Universal Infant Free School Meals, extra funding will still be available for families who are eligible for Income Support / Income based Job Seekers Allowance.  Please speak to the school office if you are eligible.  All discussions will be treated confidentially.

Please see the guidelines below which confirm whether you would be eligible and download the form to apply; a check is then made on-line to confirm eligibility. Don't miss out.  It is also important to inform the school if your child is eligible but wishes to have a packed lunch provided from home.  The school receives extra funding for each child who is eligible for Pupil Premium, whether the meals are taken or not. This funding can be used for many purposes, including help towards school trips and after school clubs etc.

Fruit and Vegetable Scheme

The school takes part in the ‘Fruit and Vegetable Scheme’ which enables each child to have a piece of fruit or vegetable each day, free of any charge.

Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle into school each day, which can be refilled from our drinking water taps. Please make sure that these are clearly named.

We are a 'Cool Milk' school - register your child today to receive free and subsidised school milk:
