Extra Curricular Clubs

Lightwater Village School is host to a variety of after school clubs, extending learning and activities beyond the formal school hours. Each club is run by a provider who uses the schools facilities for the venue. Clubs generally run for approximately 11 weeks, excluding half term and Inset Days.

Full information and details on how to book our Autumn term 2021 clubs can be found within the attachments provided below. As spaces are limited, please do book early to avoid disappointment. With the exception of French, all of our clubs will be starting during our first full week back in school, w/c 6th September.

Autumn Term 2021 Clubs:

Mondays:

Street Dance - (Years 1 and 2), 2.45-3.45pm

Street dance originated out on the streets rather than in a studio. It is an umbrella term for a number of dance styles such as, street jazz, hip hop, locking and breaking. It is a fun class, run by staff from the Elibah School of Dance, where children can explore a new style and learn some funky dances!

Tuesdays:

French (Years 1 and 2), lunchtime

Would you like your child to learn another language? La Jolie Ronde will be running 30 minute activity classes in our Library to introduce children to the language in a fun way. The Year 2 sessions will run from 12-12.30pm and Year 1 session will be from 12.30-1pm. Children will eat their lunch as normal and should still be able to play outside with their friends for a short time during their lunch break.

Drama (Years 1 and 2), 2.45-4pm

If you think your child would enjoy high energy, fun-filled weekly workshops combining drama, dance and singing, then this would be the perfect club to join. Primary Arts (formerly known as Dramacademy) have run their club from Lightwater Village School previously (Pre-Covid) and it has always been an extremely popular option!

Wednesdays:

Multi skills Club (Years 1 and 2), 2.45-3.45pm

In2Sport will be running their popular football club at Lightwater Village School from September 2021. Children will be split into age groups and each week will follow a structured syllabus to teach each child a new skill and how to implement it into a game scenario. The sessions are fun, energetic and always allow for small sided games to finish to allow each player to flourish and express themselves. Some example sessions include, 1v1’s and 2v1’s, running with the ball, tight range finishing skills, dribbling and ball manipulation, turning away from a defender and more. To book a place on this activity please use the following link: https://in2sport.class4kids.co.uk/

Please note that we do not run any after school clubs for our Reception children during the Autumn term. This is to allow time for them to settle into general school routines and to get them used to the length of the normal school day - we notice that they tend to get very tired during their first term in school!
