Discover the Nursery Experience

Throughout the nursery day, we offer a variety of exciting enhancements both indoors and outdoors as well as extracurricular sessions to enhance the children’s learning and development. Specialist coaches and imaginators lead our Playball and Hartbeeps sessions, where children enjoy active play and imaginative experiences.

Children have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enriching activities, including outdoor leanring, cooking, dance, and singing, to encourage creativity and physical development. These sessions are designed to support the children’s growth, learning, and enjoyment in a fun and engaging way.

Our outdoor offerings include den building, a vegetable patch, and a mud kitchen, providing endless opportunities for hands-on learning.

Additionally, we host outdoor learning days every half term, led by a specialist outdoor learning leader, allowing the children to immerse themselves in nature.

Our vast sandpit encourages exploration and sensory play, while the gravel pit offers opportunities to develop gross motor skills.

The bike track further supports the development of road safety awareness, gross motor coordination, and turn-taking skills. At Lightwater Village Nursery, outdoor play is an integral part of fostering creativity, physical development, and a deep connection with the natural world.

Hartbeeps at Our Nursery

Hartbeeps - a magical, musical baby, toddler and preschool class

ThWe are delighted to have Jessica from Hartbeeps joining us every Wednesday to provide weekly classes for our children. This creative program adds a unique dimension to our curriculum, featuring musical storytelling, puppet character friends, and a variety of engaging activities.

The Hartbeeps sessions are filled with upbeat, phonic-rich rhymes, raps, and songs, offering fresh and exciting ways to explore traditional nursery rhymes and children’s songs. These sessions create a fun, immersive learning environment that enhances the children’s development while keeping them entertained.Th (1)

Playball Sessions at Our Nursery

Playball UK - YouTube

We are excited to offer Playball sessions as part of our regular weekly learning experiences. These sessions, led by qualified specialists, take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and are designed to provide children with valuable opportunities to develop their gross motor skills through age-appropriate physical activities.

The children thoroughly enjoy these sessions, and we’re pleased to confirm that they will now be a consistent feature in our curriculum. At the end of each term, parents will receive a report outlining their child’s progress in these areas, helping you stay informed about their development.

The cost for Playball sessions is a one-off payment of £30 per half-term, which works out to just around £5 per weekly session. We’re proud to have Harry and his team as a valuable addition to our nursery, supporting the educational and developmental growth of our children
