GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Ofsted

Ofsted good gp colourWe are very proud of our most recent Ofsted Inspection reports, available below, and that Ofsted found our schools to be Good in all categories.

We are also proud the Inspectors noted that "Right from the start in early years, expectations are high. Children setttle in quickly and get on with the important business of playing and learning. These high expectations continue throughout the school and pupils rise to them. Pupils appreciate their teachers and value their learning."

Infant School Ofsted Report

"School is a happy place for pupils. They are known, nurtured and cared for. Relationships across the school are warm. Kindness is valued and evident throughout." Ofsted

Ofsted visited our Junior School in February 2024 for a routine, ungraded inspection following the previous visit in 2018. We are delighted that the inspector found that our school continues to be a ‘good’ school which pupils enjoy attending and are proud of, where they “work hard and produce high quality outcomes”.

The inspector praised our “broad and balanced education (which) stretches beyond learning in the classroom”, recognising that our school’s “rich offer of activities allows pupils to develop new interests and talents” and noting how pupils “delight” at the growing number of curriculum-based enrichment activities. The report also mentions how our curriculum “goes beyond the academic with a comprehensive personal development programme”, and that children are taught about being inclusive and valuing difference which creates a “harmonious environment where everyone feels welcome.”

We are particularly pleased that the inspector recognised our curriculum is “well planned and ambitious”, with leaders ensuring it has been carefully sequenced so children gain essential knowledge through key concepts and strong links between subjects. The report also highlights how our leaders have “clear oversight of all subjects and have provided teachers with effective support and guidance to introduce newer aspects of the curriculum” and because of this our staff feel well supported and value the opportunities to work with our partner schools in the Trust.

The inspection report commends how “Leaders and teachers work well together to ensure pupils’ additional needs are accurately identified and to ensure that support is provided in a timely way,” and notes that there is good support in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities to ensure they are able to learn successfully alongside their peers.

We are also pleased that the inspector saw how our children love to read and have multiple opportunities to read throughout the school day. The report states that “The reading curriculum and extra help for phonics are well planned to ensure all pupils read with confidence and fluency,” praising the “varied and diverse” reading spine which “immerses pupils in high quality literature”.
