Music Lessons and Band Opportunities

We are pleased to offer a variety of music lessons at the Junior School to inspire and nurture your child’s musical talents. Our external providers deliver expert tuition in flute/fife and piano and violin  tailored to suit individual learning needs.

In addition, we proudly partner with Rocksteady, the UK’s leading provider of in-school band lessons for primary-aged children, at both the infant and Junior School. Rocksteady’s inclusive approach helps children develop a strong sense of belonging through new friendships and a shared love of music. Participation also supports the development of social skills, wellbeing, and confidence.

Whether your child is a beginner or looking to enhance their skills, our music programmes provide a fantastic opportunity to grow creatively and socially.

ROCKSTEADY

Did you know, we partner with Rocksteady Music School to deliver fun and inclusive rock and pop band lessons, right here at Lightwater Village School! These weekly music lessons take place in school and are led by professional musicians who make learning music fun.

 

It’s the perfect way for children to learn new musical skills, make friends and have a great time – all at school!

 

Rocksteady lessons are also shown to amplify confidence, wellbeing and social skills. Here’s what else you need to know:

• There’s no experience necessary and all instruments for lessons are provided.

• Watch as your child performs in their end of term concerts, showing just how far they have come.

• Children learn up to 300 instrument, band, and performance skills, whilst playing songs they love.

• Children can achieve an Ofqual-regulated Music qualification, accredited by Trinity College London, without having to take a single exam.

• You’ll receive regular progress updates, including photos and videos.
