Gordon's Primary Maths Challenge
On Tuesday 23rd June, a group of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils proudly represented Lightwater Village Junior School at the Gordon’s Primary Maths Challenge. The competition consisted of several exciting rounds, including a team round, where pupils worked together to solve a variety of mathematical problems; a logic round, which required deep thinking and careful reasoning to tackle a complex challenge; and a relay round, where teams raced to collect problems before returning to solve them collaboratively. The event concluded with a fast-paced buzzer round, where teams from different schools went head-to-head in a thrilling maths battle.
Both of our teams performed exceptionally well, finishing in 2nd and 4th place overall. We are incredibly proud of their teamwork, perseverance and mathematical thinking throughout the competition. A huge congratulations to all of the pupils involved!
